Dr. Lyle Beck
Dr. Beck received his Bachelor of Science degree from Brigham Young University. He graduated with honors from The University of Iowa with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. He received multiple academic and clinical awards and was inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon, the national dental honor society.
Following dental school, Dr. Beck was chosen for a coveted position at the University of Washington in their General Practice Residency program with an emphasis on hospital dentistry. During his residency Dr. Beck saw patients at the Seattle Veterans Hospital, Harborview, and Children’s Hospital.
Dr. Beck enjoys the challenge and diversity of general dentistry. Whether he’s working on a simple filling or a complex full mouth restoration, he approaches each procedure with the same degree of care and attention to detail. Dr. Beck’s artistic talents are evident not only in his dental work, but also in the meticulous woodworking projects he creates in his spare time.
Born and raised in Idaho, Dr. Beck followed in the footsteps of his father, an oral surgeon. He volunteers in his community and church and serves with the Boy Scouts of America. He met his wife, Eileen in college and they have five children. They’ve felt privileged to call Kitsap County their home since 1999.
Dr. Steve Haws
Dr. Haws graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor of Science degree and received a research scholarship to the University of Iowa College of Dentistry. During his dental school years, he presented research in Puerto Rico, Orlando, San Francisco, and Kansas City, also receiving the Dean’s Leadership Award and Research Achievement Award his senior year.
After earning his D.D.S. degree, Dr. Haws was offered an opportunity to complete the Advanced Education in General Dentistry Program at Travis Air Force Base in Northern California where, upon completion of this year-long residency, he received the prestigious General Sachsel Outstanding Resident Award. After completing his military service in 2001, Dr. Haws began practicing dentistry in Kitsap County.
Patients consistently comment on Dr. Haws’ empathy and ability to listen. He has a special interest and talent in the field of cosmetic dentistry and has attended numerous continuing-education seminars to expand his skills with a particular interest in implant dentistry. Dr. Haws has an artist’s eye not only for dental aesthetics, but also in the various hobbies he has pursued throughout the years, including photography and woodworking.
Dr. Haws was born and raised in beautiful Star Valley Wyoming and has always enjoyed life in the great outdoors of the western United States. As a young man, he served a two-year mission to Costa Rica where he was immersed in the culture, grew to love the Costa Rican people, and learned to speak Spanish. This opportunity to sacrifice and serve at such a young age, laid the foundation for his adult life to find ways to help others locally and internationally. Although, he and his wife, Nikki, are devoted and busy parents to five girls and four boys, Dr. Haws has dedicated many hours throughout the years volunteering as a Boy Scout and youth leader and has enjoyed participating in local and international dental health service to disadvantaged individuals. Dr. Haws always enjoys spending time with his family and can often be found savoring the great outdoors by hiking any available mountains, running trails, kayaking in rivers or oceans, or just camping underneath the stars. He even periodically settles down with a good history book when he has spare time.
Dr. Kasey Gillespie
Dr. Kasey Gillespie received his bachelor of science in mechanical engineering from Brigham Young University and his doctor of dental surgery from the University of Oklahoma. While studying dentistry, he participated in research in craniofacial development and presented at various events, including the American Association for Dental Research annual meeting in Los Angeles. While in school, dentistry became his passion as he connected with his patients and helped them feel comfortable in his chair. Upon graduation, he was inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon, the national dental honor society.
Born and raised in Silverdale, Wash., Dr. Gillespie loves the great Northwest for its natural beauty and friendly people. Prior to enrolling in dental school, Dr. Gillespie returned to his hometown for a year as he accepted a job at the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, where he worked as an engineer in the testing and planning division.
As a young man, he participated actively in the Boy Scouts of America and earned the rank of Eagle Scout. Today, Dr. Gillespie continues serving his local troop as a leader, helping others on their trail to Eagle. He also participates in his church, for which he served a two-year mission in Brazil, where he learned to speak fluent Portuguese.
Throughout dental school, he volunteered annually at the Oklahoma Mission of Mercy and free dental clinics around the state to help those who could not afford their needed dental care.
In his spare time, Dr. Gillespie enjoys spending time with his family. While attending school in Utah, he met his wife, Miranda, a native of Middleton, Idaho. They now have two active young boys. The family enjoys roughhousing, creating, camping and spending time in the outdoors together. Dr. Gillespie also is an accomplished pianist, with preference towards the classical genre.
